The acting Chief Medical Officer has said it's hard to see nightclubs opening any time soon.
Dr. Ronan Glynn made the comment at this evening's Department of Health covid-19 briefing.
At the moment, nightclubs are due to reopen along with all remaining pubs on August 10th.
But it may be a while longer before Maniac 2000 is played in Irish nightclubs:
NEW: Very bad news for nightclubs. The Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ronan Glynn tells me "it's hard from a public health perspective to see nightclubs open any time soon”.

Meanwhile, The Taoiseach has said something far more serious was coming down the line if they didn't make the decision to keep pubs shut.
It comes after the Tánaiste Leo Varadkar warned there's no guarantee they will be able to open on the revised August 10th date either.
Pubs had been expected to open on Monday before the government decided to delay moving to phase four of the easing of restrictions.
