Citizen's Assembly Recommends Decriminalising Drugs
The Citizen's Assembly on drugs has recommended decriminalising their use in Ireland.
There are 36 recommendations which aim to create a new Irish model to reduce the harm caused by drugs use.
The Citizens' Assembly's final report on how drug use is dealt with has been published this afternoon.
The Minister with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy, Hildegarde Naughton, says she expects the recommendations will lead to meaningful changes.
Among the Assembly's 36 recommendations is moving towards a health-led response.
