Cigarettes and alcohol worth almost €90,000 have been seized at Dublin Port.
On Friday evening Revenue officers seized 98,000 cigarettes, over 4kgs of tobacco and 2,950 litres of alcohol.
They were found concealed inside a number of packages in a foreign-registered vehicle that had come from Holyhead.
The tobacco products were branded ‘Marlboro’, ‘Kent’, ‘Winston’, ‘Winchester’, ‘Vogue’ and ‘Davidoff’.
The seized alcohol and tobacco products have a combined retail value of €89,600, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of €62,500.
