A 12-year-old boy has been killed after the car he was driving collided with a lorry in Co Limerick.
It happened on the outskirts of Adare at around 2 o'clock this morning.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has now been removed to the morgue at University Hospital Limerick.
A man in his 40s who was driving the truck did not need hospital treatment.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses, especially anyone who may have dash-cam footage.
It's understood the young boy was about to turn 13.

Local TD and Junior Minister Niall Collins says it is a terrible tragedy:
"Our thoughts are with the family of the bereaved child."
"Also the truck driver who was also involved in the accident, who I know is quite shaken by the event."
"This is a really shocking incident."
"We're used to hearing about road collisions, but never are we used to hearing of a collision where a 12-year-old child is the driver of the vehicle."
