Alcohol Action Ireland says the Government is taking too long to tackle below-cost selling of alcohol.
The charity is holding a conference in Dublin today on the subject of harmful drinking and its impact on mental health.
Alcohol is known to play a role in over 50% of suicides, rising to 75% in men over 40.
