THE PRICE of a pint will be increased by 10c from midnight, while the price of a packet of cigarettes will increase by 10 cent.
Another 50c is being added to the price of a bottle of wine.
However Michael Noonan's Budget won't include any extra levies on petrol, diesel, gas or home heating oil.
Elsewhere, the Budget introduces an income tax credit for renovation works on a person's primary home, and a range of measures to tackle the shadow economy.
It also provides that the lump sums paid to the survivors of the Magdalene laundries will be tax-free, and a clampdown on corporate tax avoidance so that an 'Irish' company cannot be stateless for tax purposes.
