1. Budget 2014 will see 25 pro business and pro jobs measures at a €500 million cost in a full year.

2. There is no increase to income tax, VAT or Universal Social Charge.

3. From midnight tonight 10 cent will be added to the price of a pint of beer/cider or a standard measure of spirits, while 50 cent will be added to the price of a 750 ml bottle of wine.

4. From midnight tonight 10 cent will be added to the price of a pack of 20 cigarettes.

5. Air travel tax is to be reduced to zero from 1st April 2014.

6. The reduced 9% VAT rate for the tourism sector will be retained.

7. All monies awarded to the Magdalene survivors will be tax free.

8. Tax relief for medical insurance is to be capped at €1,000 for adults and €500 for children.

9. A "Start Your Own Business" scheme will provide two years of tax exemption for people who have been out of work for at least 15 months.

10. A new higher, single unified rate of DIRT at 41% will be introduced in January 2014.

11. People aged over 70 will have the income threshold for medical cards reduced to €500 for a single person and €900 for a couple.

12. The lower €100 weekly rate of Jobseeker’s Allowance will be extended to those aged below 22, and new entrants up to the age of 24 on or after January 1st 2014.

13. A higher rate of €144 per week will apply to those aged 25 after January 2013, while a person aged 26 and up will receive €188.

14. Free GP care will be rolled out for children aged five and under.

15. The rate of maternity benefit will be standardised to €230 per week for new claimants from January 2013.

16. Prescription charges will increase to €2.50 per item, with a monthly cap of €25 per family.

17. €10 million has been allocated to 'heal the scar' of Priory Hall, a blot on the national psyche.

18. €30 million of lottery funds will kick-start a house building programme with 500 additional housing units.

19. The telephone allowance will be discontinued to save €44 million.

20. RTE will lose €5 million as the Government's annual payment to make up for free TV licences is reduced
