Britney Spears has had her conservatorship request denied by a court in California.
The singer had requested to remove her father Jamie Spears from the conservatorship that has controlled her life since 2008 as she is afraid of him.
The 39-year-old wanted a private wealth management firm appointed as sole conservator.
However, a judge in Los Angeles has refused the request while approving the firm as co-conservator of her estate.
Last week, Britney delivered dramatic testimony which included her not being allowed to remove a contraceptive device from her body.
The court's decision however is not in response to that testimony, and instead relates to a previous request filed last November.
