Convicted criminal Brian Rattigan has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for killing a man outside a fast food restaurant in Dublin.
20 year old Declan Gavin was stabbed to death outside Abrakebabra in Crumlin in 2001.
It’s believed to have sparked the Crumlin/Drimnagh feud that claimed 16 lives.
Rattigan was convicted of Mr Gavin’s murder in 2009 but that was overturned by the Supreme Court and the 38 year old pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
The Judge noted Declan Gavin’s family has waited 17 years for closure and an admission by Brian Rattigan that he was responsible for the death.
