Brian O'Driscoll Among Those Served With Notice Over Social Media Post

Former Ireland rugby captain Brian O'Driscoll was served with a compliance notice for social posts that breached consumer law.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has published its 2024 enforcement activity.

It wrote to 26 influencers in April to remind them of their obligations around the labeling of their content.

However, two people, Brian O'Driscoll and fitness coach Caroline O'Mahony, later received compliance notices for continuing to break the rules.

Brian O'Driscoll who has 370,000 followers on Instagram "engaged in a misleading commercial practice" on a post connected to a clothing range.

While Caroline O'Mahony who has more than 820,000 followers on Instagram "engaged in misleading commercial practice" surrounding content published on her page.
