An investigation is underway after a boy was killed in a road collision with a tractor in Co. Kerry.
He was walking on Beaufort Bridge at around 7.30pm on Monday evening when he was knocked down.
The young boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to University Hospital Kerry where a post mortem is due to be carried out.
The driver of the tractor, a man aged in his 20s, wasn't injured in the incident.
The road remained closed on Tuesday morning with diversions in place to allow for Gardaí to carry out a forensic collision investigation.
Officers are appealing for witnesses. They especially want to hear from anyone who was in the Beaufort Bridge area between 7 o'clock and 7.45pm on Monday evening, and who may have video footage.
