A 3 year old boy is in a critical condition this morning following a hit & run incident in Cork.
The young child was struck by the car at Castle Meadows off Skehard Road shortly before 4pm yesterday.
He was initially taken to Cork University Hospital, but later transferred to Temple Street Hospital in Dublin where his condition is being described as critical but stable.
A blue saloon - which Gardai believe was involved in the incident - was found around 1km from the scene.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
They are particularly appealing to motorists with dash cams who were driving in the Skehard Road and Castle Meadows area between 3:30pm and 4:30pm to contact them.
