The body of a man has been recovered from a river in County Cavan.
He was in a car with two others when it entered the canal at Woodford River, Ballyheady Bridge at around 6:30pm yesterday evening.
The man in his mid-20s was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other men in their 20s escaped uninjured.
One of them was taken to Cavan General Hospital as a precaution.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
