The body of a 6-year-old boy has been found in Co. Waterford.
His remains were discovered in a car in the village of Dunmore East just after midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman aged in her late 30s was arrested at the scene. She's been taken to a Garda station in Waterford for questioning.
A forensic examination of the scene is underway and the office of the State Pathologist has been called in.
The child's body has been removed to Waterford University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
Gardaí say enquiries are ongoing.
