A man's body has been discovered in county Louth.
It was found near Termonfeckin at around 1 o'clock this afternoon.
The investigation is being carried out of Drogheda Garda Station following the discovery on the Baltray Road near Termonfeckin.
It was found at around lunchtime today.
The man's body - whose age is unknown - was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where a post mortem is to take place.
Officers say the results of the tests will determine the investigation.
A spokesperson for the force has said they do not believe it is linked to the ongoing violence in the north-east in the past couple of weeks.
