One of Dublin's most iconic businesses is to close its doors with the loss of 110 jobs.
Bewley's Cafe in Grafton Street opened in 1927, but has struggled financially in recent times due to rents of 1.5 million euro per year.
Management of the company has blamed the financial costs of Covid-19 for the decision.
Staff at the Grafton Street cafe have been informed by management and a consultation process is now underway.
The historic café has closed and reopened on a number of occasions in the past two decades.
In 2017 it relaunched after a three-year multi-million euro refurbishment project.
