Hillary Clinton beat the Senator to the Democratic nomination in 2016.
Sanders announced his intention to run again on Vermont Public Radio this morning.
He also took a swipe at the current US President Donald Trump.
I think the current occupant of the White House is an embarrassment to our country.
I think he is a pathological liar.
The 77 year old was also asked whether his age would go against him in the 2020 race for the White House.
Sanders replied:
I think we have got to try to move us toward a nondiscriminatory society that looks at people based on their abilities, based on what they stand for.
