An appeals court in Italy has upheld a decision banning former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi from office for two years.
The centre-right leader had a conviction for tax fraud upheld in August and now faces losing his seat in the senate.
His political fate now hinges on a vote in the upper house expected to take place next month, which will determine whether or not he can remain a Senator.
