The cabinet has finally signed off on the plans for an Oireachtas banking inquiry.
Enda Kenny told the Dail that the powers of inquiry have been initiated, and that the Oireachtas can now move ahead with setting it up.
Meanwhile the Taoiseach says he won't debate with Micheal Martin on the future of the Seanad - because he'd embarrass the Fianna Fail leader.
