The Mayor of the Australian town where Irishwoman Jill Meagher was murdered says they would like to build a memorial to her.
Oscar Yildiz of Moreland - which is just outside Melbourne - is visiting the 29 year old's hometown Drogheda today.
Councillor Yildiz flew into Ireland yesterday to express condolences to her family and friends on behalf of the people of his town.
Serial sex offender, Adrian Ernest Bayley, was sentenced to 35 years for raping and murdering Ms Meagher, sparking a review of parole laws in the State of Victoria.
