Democrats in the US House of Representatives will move ahead with articles of impeachment against US President Donald Trump.
The Democrats will now push towards a vote, possibly by Christmas.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made the announcement this afternoon, following weeks of committee hearings.
Pelosi told reporters the facts are uncontested, 'the President abused his power for his own personal political benefit at the expense of national security.'
Donald Trump hassince criticised Democrats saying they are "going crazy and demeaning the country."
He has called for a fast-fair, trial in the senate so the country can get back to business.
White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham says the Democrats should be ashamed of the development:
.@SpeakerPelosi & the Democrats should be ashamed. @realDonaldTrump has done nothing but lead our country - resulting in a booming economy, more jobs & a stronger military, to name just a few of his major accomplishments. πΊπΈ We look forward to a fair trial in the Senate.
