Armed Garda detectives are reportedly patrolling Dublin's Grafton Street in a bid to stop robberies.
According to the Evening Herald, the move is aimed at stopping raids on jewellers and boutiques.
The armed undercover foot patrols are said to be mingling with Christmas shoppers.
