Appeal For Serious Cork Road Crash
Gardaí are appealing for information about a road crash in which a man was hurt in Youghal in Co. Cork.
A pedestrian aged in his 60's suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car at around 6.20 yesterday evening at Upper Cork Hill.
The road remains closed this morning so a forensic examination can be carried out at the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dash-cam footage from the area to contact them.
In a statement, Gardaí said:
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision at Upper Cork Hill, Youghal, Co. Cork, yesterday evening, Thursday 1st February 2024.
The collision involved a car and a male pedestrian and occurred at approximately 6:20pm.
The male pedestrian, aged in his 60’s, has been taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
The road is currently closed pending a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6:00pm and 6:30pm, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
