Another Global Temperature Record Broken For June
Last month was the warmest June on record - beating the previous highest which was last year.
Figures show globally temperatures have broken records for 13 consecutive months.
For the past year - average temperatures have been recorded to be more than 1.5 degrees higher than the pre-industrial era.
However - it doesn't mean the Paris Accord has been breached - which sets 1.5 degrees the limit to prevent the worst effects of climate change.
The data from the EU's climate change monitoring service Copurnicus says more records will inevitably be broke if greenhouse gases continue to be added to the atmosphere.
Some of the record levels of temperatures can be put down to the El Nino phenomenon which sees warmer sea water come to the surface - with scientists expecting it to end in the coming months.
Figures from Met Eireann show temperatures in Ireland last month were below average - and was the coolest June since 2015.
