Irish shoppers are facing a €453 increase in their annual grocery bill.
That's according to Kantar, which shows grocery inflation has reached a near-10-year high of 6.5%.
Take-home groceries fell by almost 5% over the twelve weeks leading up to June 12th.
However, online grocery shopping continues to prove popular post-lockdown with sales up 9.3%.
Senior retail analyst Emer Healy says shoppers could face a substantial rise in their annual grocery bill.
"Shoppers are definitely going to be looking around for the best deals they can get, but what we have seen is that price increases are set to add €453 to the average annual grocery bill.
"Quite significant increases that consumers are going to be hit with."
