Amazon is to open its first fulfillment centre in the Republic of Ireland in the Spring.
The facility will be set up at Baldonnell Business Park in Dublin early next year.
It will lead to the creation of 500 permanent jobs.
Amazon is looking for engineers, HR and IT professionals to work at the site along with workers who will pick, pack and ship customer orders.
For consumers across Ireland, the fulfillment centre will mean faster delivery times.
Amazon customers will also be able to avail of one-day delivery.
Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland, says "It is great to see Ireland continuing to attract investment and playing such an important part in the future plans of this global company. Amazon’s ongoing commitment to Ireland is most welcome."
