44% of people in Ireland are spending more time commuting to work.
A new survey shows those people have noticed an increase in the time it takes to drive to and from work in the past 5 years.
70% of the people surveyed by CarsIreland.ie said they spend less than 45 minutes traveling each way.
20% have a journey time of between 45 and 90 minutes.
Just over 5% spend more than 90 minutes getting to work each day.
Sinead McCann of CarsIreland.ie said; ‘Traffic congestion has unfortunately been on the rise in Ireland’s urban areas for many years now, and is one of the more negative effects of a thriving economy. On a positive note, it is encouraging to see that a large majority appear to still have a relatively short commute of 45 minutes or less."
