The document will outline the recommended and assessed rail lines which could be re-opened across the whole island of Ireland.
Speaking this afternoon, Minister Eamon Ryan said:
"Week after next we expect to publish it so that we can do a strategic environmental assessment and that will allow the public see the plans we have.
"It's already starting [as] we're reopening the rail line from Foynes to Limerick in anticipation of that longer rail corridor.
"But come back to me in a week and a half and I'll go into real detail on it."
