Fine Gael TD Aine Collins says an incident in the Dáil with her colleague Tom Barry last week was not typical of the chamber.
A video clip of Deputy Barry pulling Deputy Collins into his lap during a debate on the abortion legislation in the early hours of the morning went viral and drew criticism from women's groups.
Aine Collins says she accepts the Cork North East TD's apology and has drawn a line under the incident.
Deputy Collins said it was a "disrespectful, inappropriate and very untypical incident" and she would "hate for it to be seen as a typical example of what happens in Leinster House".
