Agreement has been reached on a new public sector pay deal.
It provides for a pay increase of 10.25% over two and a half years for almost 400,000 public sector employees.
Negotiations continued overnight, after government and union representatives failed to reach an agreement in meetings earlier this month.
Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe says an agreement was struck this morning after a long period of negotiations.
"This is a process now that has been underway, in different ways now since last July, we moved into, more visible and formal negotiations and the Workplace Relations Commission from November onwards.
"Just in the last few minutes, agreement has been reached on proposals that I'll be recommending to Government, and I know the unions will be taking to their representative body later in the morning."
Responding to the pay proposals, the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors (AGSI), says it will discuss the details with their Executive later today, and will be put to a ballot of their members.
