Aaron Brady Loses Appeal Against Conviction For Killing Garda
Aaron Brady has lost an appeal against his conviction for the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe, who was shot dead outside Lordship Credit Union in 2013.
The 33-year-old, who’s from Crossmaglen in County Armagh, was convicted by a jury in 2020, and must serve a minimum of 40 years behind bars.
His lawyers raised almost 50 grounds of appeal, including an argument that the trial shouldn’t have been allowed to continue during the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, this morning, the Court of Appeal rejected all of his grounds of appeal and upheld his conviction for capital murder.
