A Weekend of Disappointment For Many Oasis Fans, Some Might Say...

Some might say it was a weekend of disappointment for Oasis fans.

Many were left gutted some standing tickets for the Croke Park gigs which started at €86.50 plus booking fees, shot up to over €400.

It's left many people's plans for next August Up in the Sky.

There are now calls for the country's consumer watchdog to investigate Ticketmaster's handling of the band's ticket sale.

Yesterday, Táinaiste Micheál Martin said "there is still time for redemption" for Ticketmaster and that the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) would have a role to play.

Over the weekend the former Executive Vice President for Ticketmaster's European Operations said fans were "stupid" to pay €400 for tickets.

Tommy Higgins also claimed that fans drove up the price for tickets, not retailers.
