Up to 82% of adults will have had their first covid-19 vaccine dose by the end of June.
That's according to Taoiseach Micheal Martin who says "up to 82% of adults who can be vaccinated will have received at least one dose and 55% - 60% will be fully vaccinated".
It's expected that up to 1.25 million doses of covid-19 vaccine will have been administered by the end of next month.
At the moment, 350,322 doses have been administered. Over 130,000 people have received both doses.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin says "we will administer, on average, more than 1 million doses per month during April, May and June."
He said the government wants "to protect as many people as possible in the coming months, until we achieve a critical mass of vaccinations. "
He said this is why they are proceeding cautiously with the unwinding of restrictions.
