75,000 fans are expected to travel to County Meath today for Metallica's first Irish gig in a decade.
Ticket-holders heading for Slane Castle are being advised to leave plenty of time for the journey and take public transport if possible.
The village will be closed to traffic from 10am.
Gates will open at 1pm, where airport style searches will be conducted. on fans entering the event.
