75 reports of sexual harassment have been made to colleges and universities over the last five years.
Freedom of Information figures show 10 staff and students have either been fined, suspended or expelled following an allegation between 2015 and 2020.
Maeve, a student in Cork, says harassment is a common experience for a lot of people who go to college.
"At the time it does seem quite small."
"It's just a catcall or inappropriate grabbing on a night out; but I do think over the years you come to realise that all these small acts don't exist in a vacuum."
She said small acts "contribute to a culture where some people think [this behavior] is okay."
There’s concern colleges are failing to capture the extent of the problem and the true figures are much higher than official stats.
