A record number of Junior Cert students will collect their results today.
Students can get their results in school or online from 4pm.
71,494 students sat the exam this year, which is a 5% increase on 2022 numbers.
It's the first time that the number of candidates sitting the Junior Cycle exams has exceeded 70,000.
600,000 grades being are being issued across 21 individual subjects.
Minister of State for Special Education and Inclusion, Josepha Madigan, says it's a huge achievement for all of the students involved.
"I just want to wish all those who are receiving their Junior First results today the best of luck.
"It's their first state exam, and it can be a tricky exam, but they should congratulate themselves, no matter how they do today, for sitting the exam and enjoy their celebrations".
Minister Madigan, says students shouldn't be too anxious about their results today.
"They will be able to get their results online, which is a new facility compared to years ago when you'd have to physically go in.
"But look, either way, it's not the Leaving Cert, it's the Junior Cert, and it's a good way to see how, they would cope with a State exam. Another run at it when they have their leading cert in a couple of years time".
