A further 49 people are confirmed to have died from COVID-19 in the Republic.
631 new cases have also been confirmed today.
It brings the death toll to 769 and the number of confirmed cases to 16,671.
At a briefing this evening, the Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said 10 deaths previously linked to the virus have now been classed as unrelated.
The new death toll of 769 reflects the change.
Dr Holohan also confirmed that 327 people with COVID-19 have been admitted to intensive care units in Ireland, with 147 of those currently still in ICUs.
130 of the patients have been discharged, while 50 people have died in ICU environments.
