A 45-year-old woman has been killed after her car collided with a truck in Co. Westmeath.
It happened at about 1pm on Monday in the townland of Glascarn, Rathconrath, Mullingar.
The woman's body has been taken to the mortuary in Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar where a post mortem will take place at a later date.
The truck driver, a man in his early 40s, was uninjured.
The road remains closed as a technical examination is being carried out by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
They are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to them.
