A 39 year old man has appeared in court charged in connection with a fire in Co.Kildare on Tuesday.
Daragh Ward of 66 Millfield Manor has been remanded in custody to appear in court again next week.
He is charged with doing damage to a house at Millfield Manor under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He appeared in Dublin District Court this afternoon dressed in a black fleece hoodie.
Detective Maeve Ward of Newbridge Garda Station gave evidence of arrest charge and caution on Wednesday.
The accused made no reply.
Detective Ward applied to have the 39 year old remanded in custody to appear in court again next Wednesday, 8th of April at 10.30.
No bail application was made.
Mr WardÂ’'s lawyer asked that he get appropriate medical and psychiatric attention, to which the judge agreed.
An application for legal aid will be made at a later stage.
Mr Ward has been remanded in custody to appear in court next Wednesday.
