A man in his 60s is being held in connection with the death of a man in Kilkenny city.
The body of the 37-year-old was found in Meadow Way, Castlecomer Road at around 6 o'clock yesterday evening.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and is thought to have died from stab wounds.
A 69-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards and was taken to Kilkenny Garda Station where he can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
Gardaí remained at the scene of the house overnight pending the arrival of the state pathologist today.
