A new opinion poll shows that almost a quarter of Ireland's 'thirty somethings' say they are likely to emigrate over the next five years.

The finding is contained in wide ranging survey of people aged between 30 and 39 - carried out for Today FM and the Irish Independent and Evening Herald.

25 per cent of respondents also say they have considered putting off having a baby due to their financial situation.

Behaviour and Attitudes questioned 1,000 adults in an online poll last month.

The findings were broken down to people aged between 30 and 39 - to form 'Ireland's Thirty Somethings - Living on the Edge' survey.

The second part of the poll being released today focuses on economic issues.

Among the findings - just under 25 per cent of 30 somethings say they are either very likely or fairly likely to emigrate over the next five years.

One in four say they've considered putting off having a baby - because of their financial situation - rising to a third in Dublin.

The poll shows 84 per cent of those surveyed expect to own their own house or apartment.

Irish Banks are least trusted by 30 somethings - followed by the Government and the Media - with hospital doctors the most trusted.

And Irish radio stations are the number one source for information and news for 30 somethings.
