Dublin City Council is to close three of its Motor Tax Offices for a week to allow time to process a significant backlog.
The offices at Smithfield, Ballymun and Clondalkin will not open next week to allow time to process 'non use declarations', motor tax and driving licence applications.
Dublin City Council has apologised for the inconvenience
The council sis also reminding people that applications for learner permits, driving licences and driver licence renewals can no longer be made through the Motor Tax Offices.
During the closures people can still renew their car tax online or by post
