Three men have been arrested following a major incident on the M1 in Dublin this evening.
A number of Garda cars were damaged as officers attempted to intercepted a car which they believed had been involved in criminal activity in the North.
The M1 was closed southbound at the M50 junction for a number of hours to facilitate the investigation.
Three men were arrested at the scene and are being held at Ballymun Garda Station.
The Gardaí say the road has now re-opened.
The M1 has now reopened following an earlier incident
