2,500 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland since the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee has said that two-thirds of those who have arrived here have been women, and she expects more to arrive today and in the coming weeks.
The United Nations says more than 2.1 million refugees will have fled the country by the end of the day.
It expects that number to grow.
Under agreements at EU level, Ireland would take 2% of the total number of refugees.
It's estimated that between 4 million and 5 million Ukrainian's will be forced to flee their home country in the coming months.
Meanwhile, there's been a huge outpouring of generosity from Irish people in response to appeals for accommodation for Ukrainian refugees.
That's according to a Government Minister who says over 9,000 offers of support have been made on a 'pledge portal'.
The pledge portal is being operated in conjunction with the Irish Red Cross and allows people to volunteer spare accommodation for those who arrive here.
Minister Roderic O' Gorman says there have been offers from all over Ireland:
"They have come from all over the country - every county and even in Northern Ireland are represented in the very generous offers we've received so far."
