23 Irish Citizens are currently in Afghanistan.
The Foreign Affairs Minister says the Government is working with those who want to leave the country.
It comes as the Taliban took control of the Afghanistan capital, where militants have entered the Presidential palace.

Simon Coveney described it as "the most significant foreign policy catastrophe in the past 20 years".
Earlier this morning, there were scenes of chaos at Kabul's airport, as people try to flee the country.

Desperate Afghans and foreign nationals were filmed climbing structures at the airport in an attempt to board planes, although all commercial flights have been suspended.
The UN Security Council is to hold an emergency meeting later.
Sky's Stuart Ramsay's is in Kabul and says the streets are already eerily different.
He says there are no women to be seen on the streets while most men have swapped t-shirts and jeans for more traditional clothing.
