22.5% of people in Ireland were unemployed this month.
These figures included those in receipt of the covid-19 pandemic unemployment payment.
The P-U-P is the 350 euro a week payment people get if they lost their job during the Covid-19 crisis.
It marks a drop of 3.5% when compared with the statistics released by the Central Statistics Office in May.
This month, the unemployment rate was 45.4 per cent among adults aged 15 to 24, and 19.2 per cent among people over 25.
The CSO says these stats represent the upper limit of the true rate of unemployment, as many of the job losses may be temporary.
