A two-year-old girl who was found with serious injuries in Cork this morning has died in hospital.
Gardaí were called to an apartment on Boreenamanna Road in Cork city just before 5.20am.
The baby was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
However she was later pronounced dead.
A technical examination of the apartment is being carried out this morning by Crime Scene Examiners.
The Office of the State Pathologist has also been notified and a post mortem is being arranged.
The results of the post mortem will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
No arrests have been made.
Gardaí at Anglesea Street say they're investigating all the circumstances of the death and an incident room has been set up.
