Two Gardaí remain in hospital after being shot during a siege in West Dublin last night.
They came under attack while responding to reports of gunfire in Blanchardstown.
The detectives sustained injuries to the foot and hand at the Whitechapel Grove housing estate.
An investigation into the incident is now underway and I urge any member of the public with any information or footage to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Following negotiations, two guns, an automatic pistol, and a handgun were surrendered from the house, and a short time later a man in his late 30s was arrested.
He's still being questioned at Blanchardstown Garda Station this afternoon.
The Justice Minister says the standoff was a very serious and dangerous incident.
Minister Heather Humphreys says it should serve to remind people that Gardai don't know what they're going to face when they put their uniform on in the morning.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin has wished the Gardai injured in the incident a speedy recovery.
