19 new rent-pressure zones are being introduced today across 11 counties.
Rents have increased by more than 8 per cent over the past year.
According to the Residential Tenancies Board, the average national rent is nearly 12-hundred euro a month.
Landlords in these areas won't be able to hike rents by more than 4 percent a year.
The new areas brings to 40 the number of rent pressure zones in the country.
