175 arrests were made for driving under the influence over the St. Patrick's Bank Holiday weekend.
170 fines were given for using a mobile phone, 92 for unaccompanied learner drivers, and 59 for not wearing a seatbelt.
The Garda Roads Policing Operation also caught almost 1,800 drivers speeding.
Some of the most notable speeds detected included a driver travelling at 209 kmph in a 100 km zone in Co Cavan, and another driving at 147 kmph in a 60 km zone in Dublin.
An extensive Garda Roads Policing Operation was in place from 7am on Thursday last week until 7am on Tuesday.
Across the Bank Holiday weekend there were three fatalities on Irish roads and five serious collisions, which resulted in five people suffering serious injuries.
There were also more than 75 vehicles seized from learner permit holders who were driving unaccompanied, and over 385 vehicles seized for having no tax or insurance.
